On the day of the incident, Dankode was assigned to clean an Egypt Air aircraft that had just landed at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. As part of the cleaning crew, he was tasked with preparing the plane for its next journey. While working, he came across an envelope in the middle of the aircraft at the 25th seat. Dankode, who was already struggling financially, faced a significant temptation. However, guided by both personal values and company policy, he chose to report the find rather than keep it. The NAHCO policy mandates that employees must report any lost items they find to their supervisors. Since his supervisor was engaged with other duties, Dankode took the initiative to directly hand over the money to Mr. Kareem Gad, the Kano Station Manager of Egypt Air.

The General Manager/CEO of NAHCO, Andranil Gupta, learned about the incident and decided to reward Dankode for his exemplary behavior. Dankode was invited to Lagos, where he was met with a warm reception by the COO of NAHCO and driven in a Prado Jeep to the company’s head office.
At the office, Dankode was introduced as a model employee whose values align with NAHCO’s core principles. He was honored with the Golden Time award, promoted to a permanent staff position, and appointed as the company’s Brand Ambassador.
