In a remarkable achievement, a 15-year-old student from Edo State, Master Gold Oviota Ajagun, has emerged as the highest scorer in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. Master Ajagun, a diligent student attending Gloryland Secondary School in Akoko-Edo Local Government, excelled as the top-performing candidate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Edo state. His remarkable feat was marked by an impressive score of 335.

Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, and Hon. Donald Okogbe, representing Akoko-Edo constituency II, welcomed the young scholar with open arms. They not only commended him for his outstanding achievement but also honored him by designating him as a one-day speaker.
Speaker Agbebaku’s commendation was followed by a heartwarming gesture as he offered Master Ajagun a one-year scholarship, covering his tuition. This scholarship will take effect immediately after the student secures admission to the University of Ibadan, where he aspires to study medicine and surgery.
Hon. Donald Okogbe, during his presentation of Master Ajagun to the Speaker, expressed his pride in the young boy’s remarkable results and emphasized that he is a constituent of his region. He also revealed the initial hiccup where the student’s WAEC results were temporarily withheld for further investigation, a challenge that was eventually overcome.
In another testament to Master Ajagun’s exceptional abilities, the lawmaker presented him with a laptop and announced the payment of his second-year tuition.
