150 Suspected Internet Fraudsters Arrested in "Yahoo-Yahoo" Training School Raid

In a bold move, military authorities at the 3 Battalion Nigerian Army barracks in Effurun, Delta State, have apprehended 150 youths suspected of internet fraud and handed them over to the police. The suspects were arrested at the Army Estate in Effurun, Uvwie, alongside the alleged owner of the “training school” and accomplices.

The arrests followed months of intelligence gathering on the activities of the suspects, who were using the high-end residential estate as a cover for their illicit activities. The suspects were allegedly training at HK “Hustle Kingdom” School, a cybercriminal training network.

According to sources, about 90 suspects were arrested in the early hours of Saturday, while an additional 60 were apprehended late Saturday night during the raid . The Delta State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests.

This isn’t the first time authorities have cracked down on “Yahoo-Yahoo” training schools. Previously, the EFCC arrested owners of similar schools in Enugu and Abuja, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat internet fraud in Nigeria .

The raid and subsequent arrests serve as a warning to those involved in cybercrime, and authorities aim to ensure that those responsible face prosecution.
