5,000 APC and LP Members Defect to PDP Ahead of Nigerian Elections

In the lead-up to the Nigerian presidential and National Assembly elections, a significant defection has taken place, with 5,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) collapsing their structures and joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The defectors changed their loyalty to PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar at an event organized by the Atiku Youth World Outreach in Abuja.

The spokesperson for the defectors, Mr Uko Miracle, speaking on behalf of the group, said that they decided to pledge their loyalty to Atiku because of his experience in governance and his capacity, wisdom and self-will. According to him, Atiku stands above other candidates and has the self-will to drive Nigeria to the promised land.
