What Can Be Corrected on JAMB’s Portal?
JAMB has specified that candidates can modify the following data fields:

- Change of Date of Birth – Ensure it matches official records.
- Correction of Gender – Modify if wrongly selected during registration.
- Change of State or Local Government Area (LGA) – Update residency details.
- Change of Institution and Course – Adjust choices based on eligibility.
How to Apply for JAMB Data Correction
To correct any of these details, candidates must follow these steps:
- Visit a JAMB-Approved CBT Centre – All corrections must be done physically at an accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
- Request a Data Correction Form – Specify the details that need modification.
- Pay the Required Service Fee – Data corrections are not free and require a non-refundable fee, payable through JAMB’s official payment channels.
- Provide Necessary Supporting Documents – Changes like name corrections or date of birth modifications may require supporting documents such as a birth certificate or affidavit.
- Review and Submit – Double-check all changes before final submission to avoid further errors.
Important Notes for Candidates
- Corrections Cannot Be Done Online – All modifications must be carried out at JAMB-accredited CBT centres.
- Ensure Details Match Official Records – Your JAMB profile should align with your National Identification Number (NIN) and O’Level results to avoid admission issues.
- Verify Admission Eligibility Before Changing Institution or Course – Ensure your new selection meets the admission criteria of the preferred school.
- Apply Early to Avoid Delays – The correction process is time-sensitive, and applying early prevents last-minute complications.
Deadline for JAMB Data Correction
JAMB has not yet announced a final deadline for data correction. However, candidates are strongly advised to complete their modifications as soon as possible to prevent any issues that could impact their UTME or admission process.
Final Call for Candidates
With the UTME registration deadline set for March 8, 2025, candidates who made errors during registration should immediately visit an approved CBT centre to apply for corrections.
