Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa is rallying Nigerians to stand behind the national team with unwavering belief as they set their sights on securing a fourth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title at the upcoming 34th edition in Ivory Coast. Despite a recent setback in a pre-AFCON friendly against Guinea, where the Eagles faced a 2-0 defeat, Musa remains steadfast in his confidence about the team’s capabilities.

The three-time champions find themselves in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. Musa’s call for belief in the team comes on the heels of a less-than-ideal performance in their final friendly in Abu Dhabi, marking the conclusion of a one-week training camp in the Middle East before their departure to Ivory Coast.

In a statement to NFF TV, Musa emphasized the excitement within the squad and highlighted the coach’s target of securing victory in the AFCON. “I just want Nigerians to believe in the team; with their support, we can go far,” Musa expressed.

Musa, standing alongside Kenneth Omeruo, represents one of the only two members from Nigeria’s last AFCON-winning team in 2013. Drawing from his experience, Musa conveyed the team’s confidence and urged Nigerians to rally behind them.
