Anambra Businessman Urgently Seeks 16 Soldiers, 20 Policemen, and 12 DSS for Enhanced Security

In the wake of heightened security challenges in Anambra State, prominent politician and businessman, Nicholas Ukachukwu, has submitted an urgent request for robust security measures to safeguard him during the upcoming festive period. The businessman, who recently made headlines with his marriage to Miss Universe Nigeria, Mitchel Ihezue, has cited the prevailing insecurity in the region as the primary motivation behind his plea for heightened protection.

Ukachukwu, a key figure in Anambra politics, made the formal request in separate letters addressed to the heads of security agencies in the state. In the wake of a recent attack on the convoy of the erstwhile Anambra State political heavyweight, Chief Chris Uba, in which two policemen and four others lost their lives, the need for enhanced security has become more pronounced.

The businessman specifically outlined his security requirements, appealing for 16 soldiers, 20 police officers, and 12 operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure his safety during a series of scheduled events in his hometown, Osumenyi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The planned activities include the inspection of a personal road project, dedication ceremonies for rehabilitated and newly constructed village churches, as well as traditional marriage rites.

In one of the letters addressed to the Commander 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, Ukachukwu detailed the timeline of his activities, spanning from January 6th to 10th, 2024. He emphasized the significance of the security personnel in light of the security challenges prevalent in Osumenyi and the broader Anambra State.

“I humbly write to request for 16 Army security personnel to provide security for me during my program/activities in Anambra State and beyond, scheduled to commence on January 6th to 10th of January 2024, respectively, taken cognizance of security challenges in my home town of Osumenyi in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State,” Ukachukwu stated in the letter.

While awaiting a response from the security agencies, Ukachukwu expressed hope that his request would be given favorable consideration and approval, highlighting the necessity of collective efforts in addressing the security challenges facing the region.
