The New Africa Fund has opened applications for the 2025 Africa Impact Fundraising Grant Program, offering a unique opportunity for African NGOs, community-based organizations, and social enterprises to strengthen their fundraising capacity and access direct financial support.
This initiative aims to equip grassroots organizations with practical fundraising skills through training, matched funding, and long-term support to scale their impact.

Key Program Features
- Online Training: Selected applicants will first undergo structured online training focused on small donor campaigns.
- 30-Day Fundraising Challenge: Participants will then engage in a hands-on fundraising challenge designed to apply their skills in real time.
- Matching Funds: Organizations that perform well during the challenge may be eligible for matching grants.
Funding and Benefits
- Grant Amount: Up to $5,000 USD per organization.
- Training for 70 Organizations: Initial training focused on individual donor campaign development.
- Free Fiscal Sponsorship: All participating organizations will receive 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship, with possible extension.
- Intensive Workshop in Kigali: Up to 10 top-performing organizations will be selected for an in-person week-long training in Kigali, Rwanda. This advanced session covers areas including:
- Fundraising strategy
- Financial management
- Marketing and communications
- Grant writing
- Donor research and retention
- Local fundraising campaigns
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, organizations must:
- Be legally registered in any of the 55 African Union member states
- Be able to provide the following documentation:
- Valid organizational registration certificate
- Organizational chart
- Most recent external audit (or five months of financial statements if audit is unavailable)
