
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched a free nationwide training programme for public secondary school teachers handling technical and vocational subjects. Known as the Technical Teachers Training Programme (TTTP), the initiative offers a tuition-free one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Announced by the Federal Ministry of Education’s Department of Technology and Science Education, the programme is part of a broader national strategy to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria by equipping teachers with modern, industry-relevant skills.

The TTTP is designed to improve the quality of instruction in technical and vocational subjects across public schools. Who is Eligible to Apply?
To qualify for the training, applicants must:
- Be a current teacher of technical or vocational subjects in public secondary schools or technical colleges.
- Have at least five years of service remaining before retirement.
- Be medically fit and provide a recent medical report.
