Abraks, in his statement, called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts in addressing the persistent threat posed by these bandits, who continue to terrorize communities in Southern Kaduna. The call for swift action emphasizes the gravity of the situation and the necessity for a robust response to ensure the safety of residents.

Governor Uba Sani expressed his concern and appealed to the military to sustain aggressive operations in the major flashpoints of the local government. The governor’s plea was made during an assessment tour of Kerawa and Sabon Birni wards, recently attacked by bandits, in the Igabi Local Government Area. Kerawa, known as an agrarian community, has been a focal point for banditry, causing distress among predominantly farming residents.

Accompanied by the garrison commander of the One Mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, visited Kerawa and Gwada communities to console the locals and understand their challenges. In response to the attacks, Governor Sani’s administration is reportedly taking concrete actions to curb the menace of banditry in Kaduna State.

While expressing condolences in Kerawa, the commissioner assured the community that the government is committed to ending banditry in the state. However, at Sabon Birni Ward, where troops have been deployed to ensure local safety, residents are urging the government to provide a permanent solution to the ongoing security challenges.

Despite these distressing events, the Kaduna State Government asserts its unwavering commitment to bringing development and good governance to the people. The persistence of insecurity, however, underscores the need for swift and comprehensive measures to restore peace and safeguard the lives and properties of the residents.
