The appointment was confirmed through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim. The letter highlighted the governor’s authority, as provided by the laws of Bauchi State, specifically Cap. 24 Item 3 (1) of the Appointment of Emirs/Chiefs and Deposition 1991, to appoint traditional leaders.
