Bauchi Governor Appoints Haruna Danyaya as 17th Emir of Ningi

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has officially appointed Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi. This decision, announced on Sunday, follows the recommendations of the kingmakers and is seen as a significant moment for the Ningi Emirate.

Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, born in 1956 in Ningi, is a respected figure within the community. He previously held the title of Chiroman Ningi, which prepared him well for his new role as Emir. His deep connection to the emirate and his prior leadership experience made him a natural choice to continue the legacy of his late father, who once occupied the same position.

The appointment was confirmed through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim. The letter highlighted the governor’s authority, as provided by the laws of Bauchi State, specifically Cap. 24 Item 3 (1) of the Appointment of Emirs/Chiefs and Deposition 1991, to appoint traditional leaders. This legal backing ensures that the process is in line with established traditions and the state’s governance framework.

The government’s decision to appoint Danyaya reflects its acknowledgment of the importance of traditional rulers in governance and community development.
