Primary school teachers in Borno State celebrated on Friday after receiving their first payment under the newly implemented N70,000 minimum wage. The salary increase, which Governor Babagana Umara Zulum approved earlier in October, became effective with the disbursement of October wages last week.
Teachers took to social media to share screenshots of their payment alerts, expressing joy and gratitude. This comes shortly after civil servants in the state also received the enhanced minimum wage.
