BREAKING: Fraud Inquiry – Ex-Humanitarian Affairs Minister Arrives At EFCC Headquarters

Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, has arrived at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters to address questions related to her tenure. The anti-graft agency had invited her to provide clarifications on issues under investigation, specifically concerning the alleged laundering of N37.1 billion during her term.

Mrs. Umar-Farouq, expressing pride in her service to the nation, stated, “I will defend my actions, stewardship, and programs during my tenure whenever I am called upon to do so.” Her willingness to cooperate comes after a previous failure to attend the EFCC invitation. In a letter of apology, she explained her initial non-appearance, indicating her readiness to engage with the commission now.
