In a significant development, the Kebbi State Government, led by Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, has announced a promising timeline for the restoration of electricity in Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara. This announcement comes in the wake of the devastating fire incident at the TCN Office in Birnin Kebbi on September 14, 2023, which resulted in the loss of billions in property and a widespread power outage.
Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, and Special Adviser on Politics and Electricity, Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant, joined forces with Engineer Dr. Abubakar Abdulaziz and a team of dedicated engineers to expedite the repair and revival of the electrical infrastructure in the affected regions.
Engineer Dr. Abubakar Abdulaziz expressed confidence that the repairs would be completed within two weeks, based on permissions granted at the headquarters in Abuja. He emphasized the collective effort of numerous engineers across Nigeria who have rallied to restore power to Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara in the coming weeks.
Governor Dr. Nasir Idris personally urged the team to inspect the fire-damaged TCN Office site to ensure a swift and efficient restoration process. He empathized with the hardships faced by the people due to the prolonged power outage.

Furthermore, the Special Adviser to the governor stated that the official announcement regarding the restoration date would be made through various media channels, including radio and television stations. He also cautioned residents to switch off all electrical appliances, such as lights, air conditioners, and refrigerators, to prevent potential damage when the power is restored.
This collaborative effort between the Kebbi State Government and dedicated engineers is a beacon of hope for the residents of Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, who have endured the challenges brought about by the TCN Office fire. The forthcoming restoration of electricity promises to bring relief and normalcy back to these regions.
