Breaking: Kebbi State Governor Dissolves Executive Council and Appoints New Officials

Kebbi State, Nigeria – In a significant move, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has announced the immediate dissolution of the Kebbi State Executive Council, Boards of Agencies and Parastatals, as well as all political appointees from the previous administration. The decision comes as part of the Governor’s efforts to institute a fresh start and ensure efficient governance in the state.

Alongside the dissolution, Governor Nasir Idris has appointed a new team of individuals to key positions, based on their exceptional merits and proven track records. The Governor emphasized the importance of these appointments and urged the newly appointed officials to consider their roles as a call to service, encouraging them to fulfill their responsibilities diligently and justify the trust placed in them.

The list of newly appointed officials includes Barrister Attahiru Macido, who assumes the role of Chief of Staff to the Governor, bringing his extensive legal expertise to the position. Alhaji Yakubu Bala (Tafidan Yauri) has been appointed as the Secretary to the State Government, leveraging his vast administrative experience.

Aminu Musa Danko has been appointed as the Personal Assistant to the Governor, while Aliyu Bandado Argungu takes on the role of Special Adviser New Media. Abu Zaidu Yari has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant New Media, responsible for enhancing the state’s digital presence. Umar Shehu Baiti will serve as the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, ensuring the smooth functioning of official events.

The Governor has also selected Ahmed Idris as the Press Secretary to the Governor, and Yahaya Sarki as the Special Adviser On Media and Publicity, tasked with effective communication and dissemination of government activities.

These appointments, which took effect from May 29th, 2023, mark a new chapter in Kebbi State’s governance. The Governor’s decision to dissolve the previous administration and bring in fresh faces demonstrates his commitment to delivering effective and transparent governance to the people of Kebbi State.
