In a recent statement, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) addressed speculations about an impending increase in petrol pump prices. The NNPCL emphasized that it does not intend to raise the retail price of petroleum, as previously rumored. The company assured its valued customers that it values their patronage and is committed to providing quality products at affordable prices across its nationwide NNPC Retail stations.
This announcement comes after the NNPCL adjusted pump prices earlier this year due to the removal of petroleum subsidies, allowing market forces to determine pricing. The NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, stated that market realities will continue to influence fluctuations in petrol prices, highlighting the dynamic nature of the oil sector.
