Security operatives in Kebbi State have successfully rescued Augustine Madubiya, a 400-level student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), who was abducted by gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Director of Security at the Kebbi State Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, announced the rescue during a press briefing on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi.
Zagga explained that the operation was a result of strict directives from Governor Nasir Idris, who ordered all security agencies in the state to work together and ensure the student’s safe recovery.
“I am pleased to inform you that the FUBK student abducted yesterday has been rescued alive and unharmed through the combined efforts of our security forces,” Zagga said.
The rescue underscores the importance of rapid, coordinated responses in tackling security challenges, especially cases of abduction, which have been a growing concern across parts of Nigeria.
Authorities have assured the public of their continued commitment to strengthening security measures and responding swiftly to incidents.
