The Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Kebbi, under the jurisdiction of Kebbi State, is preparing to recommence flight operations from Birnin Kebbi to Abuja on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. This development follows a temporary closure attributed to the expiration of the agreement between the previous administration and AZMAN Airlines.
Alhaji Habibu Kamba, the airport’s General Manager, confirmed the reopening and stated that the state government, led by Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, has successfully concluded negotiations with a new airline to take over the routes. Kebbi State Commissioner for Works, Abdullahi Umar, clarified that the airport wasn’t closed but was awaiting the completion of paperwork for a new airline operator.

In a statement released by the airport management, it was disclosed that flights from Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport will operate every Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday, aligning with the state’s commitment to enhancing the lives of its residents and fostering investment opportunities.
