Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has once again made history, solidifying his place as a global music icon with the highest-grossing arena concert tour by an African artist in the United States. His ‘I Told Them’ tour has achieved phenomenal success, amassing $15.5 million from 15 shows across the country.
According to Touring Data, a prominent American tour statistics company, Burna Boy’s performance at Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena on March 7, 2024, stood out, grossing an impressive $1.725 million with a sold-out attendance of 13,892. This achievement surpasses his previous milestones at venues like Boston’s TD Garden and Hollywood’s Hard Rock Live.

Kicking off at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium on November 3, 2023, the 16-city tour organized by Live Nation showcased Burna Boy’s commanding stage presence and the growing popularity of Afrobeats. Cities including Houston, Chicago, and Toronto experienced unforgettable performances before the tour culminated at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on March 9, 2024.
Earlier, Burna Boy had made history as the first Nigerian artist to headline a stadium show in America with a sold-out event at New York’s Citi Field. These achievements underscore not only his musical prowess but also the rising influence of Afrobeats music globally.
