The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise into four major paramilitary agencies in Nigeria.
The recruitment begins on Thursday, June 27, 2025, and is open to qualified Nigerians interested in full-time positions with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
According to the Secretary to the Board, retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, all applications must be submitted online through the official recruitment portal: https://recruitment.cdcfib.org within three weeks from the announcement date. He emphasized that the process is free, and multiple submissions by the same applicant will lead to automatic disqualification.
The recruitment exercise covers three main categories: Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant Cadres, with specific academic and professional qualifications required for each.
For the Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 09) position under the Nigerian Correctional Service, applicants must hold a BSc in Medicine and Surgery. For the Federal Fire Service, candidates applying for Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09) must have a degree in Law or a BSc in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Water Engineering, or related fields.
The Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08) positions, applicable to the NSCDC, FFS, and Immigration, require a BSc or Higher National Diploma (HND).
Inspectorate Cadre positions include Inspector (CONHESS 06), which require nursing or midwifery qualifications and are open in the NCoS, NSCDC, and FFS. For the Assistant Inspector (CONPASS 06), applicants must possess an Ordinary National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE) in relevant fields.
General duty roles at the Assistant II level (CONPASS 04) are open to those with at least five OโLevel credits in not more than two sittings. The Assistant III level (CONPASS 03) requires a minimum of four credits.
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens, physically and mentally fit, with no previous criminal or financial crime record. They must also fall within the age range of 18 to 35 years.
The CDCFIB noted that this recruitment is part of a national effort to boost manpower in key security and emergency response institutions and contribute to national safety and service efficiency.
