The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially announced the closure of the nationwide Computer-Based Test (CBT) for its 2025 recruitment exercise. With the examination now concluded, thousands of candidates are anxiously waiting for the release of results and the next stage of the process.
However, the period after the exam has already been filled with widespread speculation and misleading updates circulating across social media platforms. Candidates are advised to ignore all unofficial sources and rely strictly on verified announcements from CDCFIB’s official communication channels.
The 2025 CDCFIB CBT commenced on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, and ended on Wednesday, 19 November 2025. While many candidates were able to complete the test successfully, a significant number reported challenges during the exam. Some candidates complained that the portal showed “Exam Completed” even though they did not attempt any questions. Others received only 14 to 20 questions out of the expected 40, especially those who wrote using mobile phones. Candidates who used desktop computers were not exempt from these issues, showing that the glitches were widespread and not device-related.
Another major concern was the inability of some candidates to view their examination numbers or scheduled dates. This issue resulted from earlier problems on the shortlist portal, which prevented many applicants from scheduling their CBT and printing their exam slips.

CDCFIB Exam: When Results and Shortlist Will Be Released
Following the official confirmation of the CBT closure on CDCFIB’s X and Facebook pages, reactions were mixed. While many frustrated candidates highlighted the problems they faced, thousands of others expressed relief after successfully completing their exams. For this second group, the focus has now shifted to awaiting high scores that will qualify them for the next stage: the interview.
As of now, CDCFIB has not released any official directive regarding candidates who faced portal glitches or incomplete questions during the test. Candidates are therefore urged to remain patient until the board issues a clear statement.
Earlier on 23 June 2025, a government circular revealed that the President had approved the recruitment of 30,150 personnel across four paramilitary agencies, along with 209 staff for the CDCFIB Secretariat. The breakdown includes:
• 5,150 recruits for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
• 10,000 recruits for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
• 5,000 recruits for the Federal Fire Service (FFS)
• 10,000 recruits for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
This brings the total number of approved positions to 30,359, which is equivalent to about 821 personnel for each state and the Federal Capital Territory if evenly distributed.
For now, candidates should continue to monitor only official CDCFIB platforms for updates regarding results, shortlist, and the next phase of the exercise. The public is also advised to disregard any information that is not sourced from the board’s verified channels.
