Board Emphasizes Free and Fair Process for All Candidates
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released an official update regarding its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to a transparent, fair, and cost-free process.
In the statement issued on October 20, 2025, and signed by Okeh Juliet, the Head of Press and Public Relations, the Board made it clear that no applicant is required to make any form of payment during the recruitment process. The CDCFIB emphasized that the entire procedure—from application to final selection—will be conducted with the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and accountability.
Applicants Urged to Follow Official Channels for Authentic Information
The CDCFIB strongly advised all applicants to rely solely on its official communication channels for any updates or announcements concerning the recruitment stages. According to the Board, authentic notifications will be published only on recognized CDCFIB platforms and through accredited media outlets.
The Board also cautioned against the growing activities of fraudsters and impostors who create fake websites, social media pages, and email addresses to mislead unsuspecting job seekers. Applicants were warned to be vigilant and avoid sharing personal or financial information with unverified sources.
“Candidates are further warned to beware of fraudsters who may attempt to exploit unsuspecting job seekers through false claims or financial demands,” the statement stressed.
Zero Tolerance for Corruption and Bribery
Reiterating its stand on transparency, the CDCFIB declared that no official, staff, or representative has been authorized to solicit money, gifts, or any form of favor in exchange for employment.
The Board stated that any report of such misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and those found culpable will face strict disciplinary and legal actions. It also noted that merit-based selection remains the foundation of the recruitment process, ensuring that only the most competent and qualified individuals are employed into the country’s paramilitary services.
Commitment to Fairness and Accountability
The CDCFIB emphasized that fairness and accountability are central to its mission of strengthening the nation’s security architecture through the recruitment of disciplined and skilled personnel. The Board reassured applicants that every stage of the process—from screening to documentation—will be conducted transparently.
“At no point will any applicant be asked for payment, disclosure of bank information, or any financial contribution,” the statement reiterated.
Protecting Applicants from Scams and Fraudulent Activities
The CDCFIB acknowledged that recruitment exercises in Nigeria often attract fraudulent schemes targeting job seekers. As part of its awareness drive, the Board urged all candidates and members of the public to report any suspicious communication, message, or demand to the nearest security agency or to CDCFIB’s official contact points.
This proactive approach, according to the Board, will help curb cyber fraud, protect innocent applicants, and reinforce public trust in government recruitment systems.
Attracting the Best for National Service
Highlighting its broader mission, the Board noted that its goal is to attract the best-qualified, patriotic Nigerians to serve in the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services. This, it said, is vital to strengthening national institutions responsible for public safety, border management, correctional reforms, and emergency response.
The CDCFIB reaffirmed that it remains steadfast in its effort to safeguard the interests of all applicants while upholding transparency and professionalism.
Public Advised to Remain Vigilant
The statement concluded by encouraging all candidates to remain alert and to disregard any unofficial messages promising job placements or fast-tracked recruitment. The public is advised to report any suspicious behavior to security agencies or the nearest CDCFIB office for prompt investigation.
