CDP Chief Seeks End to Security, Economic Challenges

Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, a former National Vice Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called upon both federal and state governments to intensify political efforts in confronting the prevailing security and economic difficulties plaguing Nigeria.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, Ogidi voiced deep concern over the escalating levels of violence, kidnapping, and other criminal activities sweeping across the nation. He emphasized the urgent need for decisive political actions to be taken to curb these alarming trends.

Ogidi particularly highlighted the recent tragic incident in Okuama Community, Delta State, where 16 soldiers were killed. He condemned the heinous act in the strongest terms, labeling it as brutal and wicked. Ogidi stressed that there can be no justification for the killing of security personnel and called for a thorough political investigation into the matter. He urged political authorities to ensure that perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice through due political process.

Additionally, Ogidi appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to prioritize political efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of affected communities. He urged political leaders to engage with residents and foster political cooperation during the investigative process.

Turning his attention to internal political matters, Ogidi advised members of the PDP to remain politically steadfast and united. He expressed confidence in the party’s political resilience and its ability to overcome current political challenges. Ogidi assured political stakeholders that concerted political efforts are underway to prepare for future political elections. He encouraged political collaboration among party aspirants in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo and Ondo States.

As the nation grapples with multifaceted political challenges, Ogidi’s call for concerted political actions at various levels underscores the critical importance of political unity and political determination in confronting Nigeria’s pressing political issues.
