In Kharkiv, missiles targeted boiler houses, thermal power plants, and electricity facilities, leaving four injured and many without heating in freezing temperatures. In Dnipropetrovsk, one resident lost their life, and 17 others were injured in a separate attack in Kryvyi Rig.
Governor Sergiy Lysak of Dnipropetrovsk lamented the extensive damage, stating, “Russia is trying to destroy the region’s power system.” The assault forced evacuations in the Kharkiv region and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.

Despite the onslaught, Zelensky expressed gratitude to those defending the nation, vowing that “Russian evil will not break Ukraine and will not ruin Christmas.” However, the attack highlighted the ongoing struggle for dominance along the frontlines, particularly in Kharkiv and Donetsk.
