The spokesperson for the Court, Muzammil Ado Ibrahim Fagge, expressed confusion over the situation, stating that they were unaware of the development. He emphasized that the judge would decide on bail matters on February 20, 2024.

Contradicting this, the spokesman for the Kano Correctional Centre, Musbahu Kofar Nassarawa, clarified that Murja Kunya was released in accordance with a court order. He explained the stringent procedures within the correctional facility, emphasizing that court orders initiate both admission and release.
