“Funds” is a high-energy anthem that samples South African legend Brenda Fassie’s 1997 classic, “Vuli Ndlela.” Davido gave fans a preview of the track during his birthday concert at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, where he performed it alongside Odumodublvck.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Davido explained the deeper meaning of the single. “‘Funds’ isn’t just about money – it’s about the mindset, the struggle, and the rewards that come with staying true to your grind. Working with Odumodublvck and Chike was magic, and together we created something special.”
5ive will mark Davido’s first album since Timeless, released in March 2023. The critically acclaimed album achieved global success, peaking at No. 2 on Billboard’s World Albums chart and No. 37 on the Billboard 200. It was nominated for Best Global Music Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards, with its hit single “Unavailable” also earning recognition for Best African Music Performance.
With 5ive, Davido promises to continue blending African pride with universal appeal. “We’re just getting started,” he wrote, setting the stage for another milestone in his illustrious career.
