Nigerian music star Davido has pledged ₦300 million to support orphanages across the country. The singer announced this via his official Twitter account on Monday, stating that the donation would also benefit a charity focused on helping young people overcome drug abuse and addiction.
“Once again, my birthday this year will be marked by donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year’s donation is ₦300m. Details to follow soon,” Davido tweeted.
The donation will be channeled through the Davido Adeleke Foundation (DAF), which he established in 2022 to streamline his philanthropic efforts. The foundation has made significant contributions to supporting vulnerable children in Nigeria.

Davido’s charitable journey began in 2021 when he raised over ₦200 million from friends and fans after sharing his bank account details online. He added ₦50 million of his own money to the total and donated the entire sum to orphanages and the Paroche Foundation.
Through these efforts, Davido has consistently demonstrated his dedication to improving the lives of Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations.
