The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has ordered an official investigation into the alleged unlawful six-year detention of Seaman Abbas Haruna, a naval officer. The investigation follows widespread public outcry sparked by a viral video in which Haruna’s wife, Usaina Haruna, appeared on the Brekete Family Show, alleging injustice against her husband.
According to Usaina, Seaman Haruna has been held in military detention for over six years for allegedly leaving a parade to pray. The video has since generated significant public backlash, with many criticizing the military’s handling of the situation.
