In a recent address to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council during the 2024 Ramadan Iftar at the State House, President Bola Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to addressing the country’s economic challenges, particularly the rising inflation rate. Despite acknowledging that he doesn’t possess a magical solution, Tinubu expressed determination to tackle inflation.
Since assuming office in May 2023, Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate have contributed to a steady increase in Nigeria’s inflation rate, leading to economic difficulties for citizens. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported a rise in inflation to 31.70 percent in February 2024 from 29.90 percent the previous month.

Nevertheless, Tinubu emphasized his government’s efforts to reverse this trend, reassuring the public that the economy is showing signs of improvement. He urged Nigerians not to worry, promising to bring down inflation rates through reengineering revenue and reclaiming Nigeria’s sovereignty and respect globally.
Tinubu emphasized the importance of collective effort, resourcefulness, investment, dedication, and hard work in overcoming challenges and achieving economic stability. He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the promises made during his campaign and urged citizens to maintain hope in his administration’s ability to deliver positive results.
