The Department of State Services (DSS) has officially declared its 2025 nationwide recruitment exercise open. The application portal is now active for interested Nigerians who meet the requirements to apply through their respective state commands.
The recruitment covers Officers’ Cadre and Other Rank Cadres, with applications closing on 22nd August 2025. The recruitment examination will take place on 30th August 2025.

Requirements for Officers’ Cadre
- Must be a Nigerian citizen and indigene of their state of origin.
- Age limit: 20 to 30 years.
- Academic qualification: Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language in one sitting.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (minimum Second Class Lower) or HND (Lower Credit and above) from a recognized institution.
- NYSC discharge certificate is mandatory.
- Female applicants must be single.
- Male applicants must be at least 1.60m tall.
Requirements for Other Rank Cadres
- Must be a Nigerian citizen and indigene of their state of origin.
- Age limit: 18 to 27 years.
- Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language in one sitting.
- Female applicants must be single.
- Male applicants must be at least 1.60m tall.
Application Guidelines
All applicants must prepare and submit the following:
- Handwritten application letter addressed to the Director-General, State Services (DGSS).
- Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Photocopies of academic and professional certificates.
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip or card.
Applications must be submitted at the Admin Unit of the DSS Command in the applicant’s state of origin, reflecting their senatorial zone.
