DSS Warns Passengers: Bandits Planning Attack on Abuja-Kaduna Train

In a concerning development, the Department of the State Services (DSS) has reportedly issued a security alert regarding an impending threat of a bandit attack on the Abuja-Kaduna Train service. The leaked memo, titled “Security Alert: Impending Threat By A Coalition Of Banditry Syndicate To Attack Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Along AKTS Corridor,” highlights the potential danger and urges heightened security measures to prevent the occurrence.

The DSS memo, signed by R.N. Adepemu, Director of the FCT Command, has raised an alarm about the likelihood of bandits launching an assault on the Abuja-Kaduna Train along the AKTS corridor. The urgency of this security alert stems from past incidents. Just last year, on March 28, 2022, gunmen attacked an Abuja-Kaduna train in Katari, Kaduna State, leading to the abduction of numerous passengers. This incident underscores the vulnerability of the train service to criminal elements and emphasizes the necessity of proactive security measures.

In response to the DSS warning, other security agencies have been urged to collaborate and deploy troops to safeguard the Abuja-Kaduna Train service. The potential attack poses not only a threat to the passengers’ lives but also to the integrity of the transportation infrastructure itself.
