Eguavoen Invites Rabiu Ali, 29 Others for CHAN Qualifiers Against Ghana

Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has invited 30 home-based players to camp as Nigeria ramps up preparations for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Ghana.

CHAN, a tournament exclusively for players competing in their domestic leagues, will hold its eighth edition in February 2025 across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the squad in a statement released by its Head of Communications, Ademola Olajire. The players are expected to report to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday.

Veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars, who has netted eight goals this season, headlines the squad alongside other notable names, including Remo Stars’ goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Rivers United defender Steven Mayo, and Nasarawa United forward Anas Yusuf.

The Super Eagles B will train ahead of their first-leg clash against Ghana’s Black Stars B, scheduled for December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The return leg will take place on December 28 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
