A growing number of Nigerians are joining the Tapswap mining craze on Telegram, inspired by the recent success of the Notcoin project. However, Michael John, a Nigerian crypto enthusiast, warns that many of these new miners may not see the financial gains they expect.
John, who shared his insights in a Facebook post, praised the resilient spirit of Nigerians but emphasized the importance of experience and knowledge when venturing into cryptocurrency. He pointed out that many newcomers have little understanding of crypto wallets, decentralized exchanges (DEX), and centralized exchanges (CEX), which could hinder their ability to profit from Tapswap.
In his post, John wrote, “Before you label it as bad luck, ask those who joined the airdrops based on incomplete stories about #NOTCOIN. You’ll find many are unprepared and lack the necessary knowledge.”
Crypto expert Obani Ebenezer Nwokoma echoed John’s concerns. He highlighted the risks associated with using automated clickers for mining Tapswap, referencing issues that arose with Notcoin. “During Notcoin’s evaluation process, irregular clicking patterns were detected, disqualifying many users as bots. I advise miners to manually participate to avoid similar issues with Tapswap,” Nwokoma said.
