In a groundbreaking move toward transparency and accountability, the Federal Government of Nigeria has introduced a cutting-edge mobile application aimed at monitoring ministerial performance and gathering citizen feedback on government policies and initiatives. The newly launched Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App marks a significant step towards fulfilling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to a citizen-centric approach to governance.
Announcing the launch in Abuja, Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination and Head of the Central Coordination Delivery Unit (CDCU), emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring openness and responsiveness to the needs of the Nigerian people. Under this initiative, ministers will be held to account through compulsory quarterly assessments, evaluating their progress in delivering on the eight priority areas outlined by President Tinubu.

These priority areas encompass crucial aspects of national development, including economic reform, national security, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, education, health, diversification, and governance improvement. Through the signing of performance bonds, ministers and permanent secretaries have committed to achieving specific deliverables and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within their respective ministries.
The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App, available for download on both Google Play Store and the Apple Store, empowers Nigerians to actively participate in monitoring government programs and projects. Citizens can access information about priority initiatives, track progress, and provide real-time feedback on their assessment of government policies, programs, and projects from anywhere in the country.
Furthermore, the initiative extends beyond ministerial performance evaluation to encompass the assessment of constituency projects allocated to senators and House of Representatives members. By leveraging technology, the government aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in the governance process.

Ms. Bala-Usman highlighted that the CDCU will play a pivotal role in coordinating and monitoring the implementation of presidential priorities, ensuring that government actions are aligned with the needs and aspirations of the Nigerian people. Through partnerships with civil society organizations, including the Open Government Partnership (OGP), and sectorial engagement sessions, the government seeks to foster inclusive governance and amplify citizen voices.
President Tinubu’s commitment to leading an inclusive government that actively involves all Nigerians in decision-making processes underscores the significance of initiatives like the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App. By embracing technology and promoting citizen participation, the government endeavors to build trust, foster accountability, and drive sustainable development for the benefit of all Nigerians.
As the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App takes center stage in the government’s efforts to enhance transparency and accountability, it signifies a significant leap forward in harnessing the power of technology to empower citizens and transform governance in Nigeria.
