Federal Government Renews Pledge for Poverty Reduction, Job Creation, and Economic Revitalization

In a recent development, the Federal Government has reiterated its unwavering commitment to tackling poverty, fostering job creation, and revitalizing the economy across the nation. The Minister of Trade and Investment, Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, reaffirmed this commitment during a visit to Governor Abba Yusuf in Kano, where she led a delegation.

Uzoka-Anite emphasized that the government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, is strategically prioritizing key areas such as job creation, capital accessibility, economic growth, and poverty eradication to breathe new life into the nation’s economy. The minister asserted that the administration would steadfastly uphold its determination to safeguard businesses operating within the country.

Aligned with the eight-point agenda of Tinubu’s administration, the Ministry of Trade and Investment is actively working to revive industries, aiming to create more job opportunities. The purpose of the minister’s visit to Kano was to assess the state of industrialization and gather crucial data on challenges requiring urgent attention, all aimed at fostering industrial development.

Uzoka-Anite reiterated the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the export of value-added products, with a focus on exploring comparative advantages. The ultimate goal is to contribute to economic growth by promoting the export of locally produced goods.
