The Federal Ministry of Works has opened a new recruitment and capacity development programme for 2025, offering opportunities to unemployed engineers and skilled artisans across Nigeria. The initiative is part of the Federal Government’s effort to strengthen local technical capacity while supporting the delivery of ongoing and future infrastructure projects nationwide.
This recruitment targets a wide range of technical roles, including engineering graduates and experienced construction workers. Successful applicants will be engaged under a structured on-site training and work programme designed to provide practical experience in real construction environments.
According to the ministry, the programme focuses on hands-on learning rather than theory alone. Participants will be attached to active federal road and infrastructure projects within or close to their regions. Under the supervision of qualified engineers and contractors, they will gain exposure to modern construction methods, safety standards, and professional work practices.
The recruitment is open to Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 45 who are currently unemployed and physically fit for field-based work. Applicants are expected to possess relevant academic qualifications, vocational certificates, or proven practical experience related to their chosen roles. Willingness to undergo additional training and safety certification is also required.

Beyond training, the programme is expected to improve employability by equipping participants with industry-relevant skills. Beneficiaries may receive stipends during their engagement, basic safety equipment, and certification upon successful completion. Outstanding participants may also be considered for future opportunities with government projects or private contractors.
Interested candidates are advised to prepare their application documents carefully and apply through the official channel provided by the Federal Ministry of Works. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for verification and orientation before deployment.
This recruitment programme reflects the government’s broader commitment to job creation, youth empowerment, and sustainable infrastructure development, while ensuring that Nigerian professionals play a greater role in national construction projects.
