FUBK Continues to Expand and Thrive, Attracting Over 10,000 Applicants
In a momentous event on Friday, Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) celebrated its 8th matriculation ceremony, officially welcoming 3,336 undergraduate and postgraduate students into its academic community. The university, established in 2013, has made remarkable progress since its inception, now offering 37 undergraduate programs and 20 postgraduate programs, demonstrating its commitment to fostering a vibrant academic culture.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Zayyan Muhammad-Umar emphasized the university’s unwavering dedication to academic excellence. He praised the tireless efforts of his predecessors in shaping FUBK into a distinguished institution known for cutting-edge research, seminars, workshops, and conferences that contribute to both academic exchange and community development.
With pride, Muhammad-Umar assured students, parents, and guardians that the university would continue to build upon its significant achievements. Highlighting the popularity of FUBK, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that this year’s admissions process witnessed over 10,000 applicants. From this impressive pool, 3,062 undergraduate candidates and 274 postgraduate candidates were successfully admitted and officially inducted during the matriculation ceremony.

In his address, Muhammad-Umar called upon the students to actively contribute to the development of a university they can all take pride in. He urged them to shun negative practices such as cultism, drunkenness, exam malpractice, and disrespect for authority, vowing that FUBK has a zero-tolerance policy for such behaviors.
Expressing concern for the safety and well-being of the students, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities promptly to the university authorities.
