August 13, 2025 – The Nigerian Government is preparing to recruit youths for the upcoming National Population Census, which will be conducted across the country in the coming months.
The National Population Commission (NPC) has confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure a successful exercise, which is expected to create thousands of temporary job opportunities for young Nigerians.
Recruitment will be announced for various ‘ad-hoc staff’ positions across different grade levels.
This update was shared today, August 13, 2025, by the NPC Commissioner representing Kaduna State, Hajiya Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba, popularly known as Saa Dogon Bauchi, through a post on her official Facebook page.
She wrote: “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… Matasa kowa ya fito da CV gaife guda insha’Allah,” which translates to, “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… All youths should bring their CVs, In sha Allah.”
The announcement is seen as a call for Nigerian youths to start preparing their job application documents early to take advantage of the temporary employment opportunities that will be available during the census. These jobs will allow participants to earn income, gain valuable work experience, and contribute to an important national project.
Saa Dogon Bauchi emphasized that the upcoming census is more than just a headcount, describing it as a vital national exercise for gathering accurate demographic data to guide government policies in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
The NPC has indicated that modern technology and digital tools will be deployed during the process to ensure accurate, transparent, and reliable data collection.
For many young people, this announcement offers a timely opportunity to secure short-term employment in a government-backed project. As preparations intensify, youths across Nigeria are being encouraged to have their CVs ready and stay informed about the recruitment process.
The NPC also cautioned that some individuals may attempt to exploit the announcement to mislead unsuspecting applicants. Therefore, interested candidates are urged to rely only on updates from official channels, especially the NPC, in the coming days.
