The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a new empowerment and training initiative aimed at equipping 10,000 Nigerians with the skills needed to participate in the country’s growing oil and gas industry.
The programme is part of NCDMB’s commitment to promoting local content development, creating employment opportunities, and ensuring Nigerians take on more active roles in the energy sector.
According to the Board, the initiative will focus on capacity building, entrepreneurship, and technical training in key areas of the oil and gas value chain. Beneficiaries will be selected from all regions of the country, with special consideration for youths, women, and small business owners.
The training will cover practical skills such as:
- Welding and fabrication
- Electrical installation and maintenance
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- ICT and digital tools for oil and gas operations
- Project management and entrepreneurship
NCDMB’s Executive Secretary emphasized that the programme aligns with the Federal Government’s goal of reducing unemployment, improving technical competence, and ensuring inclusive participation of Nigerians in strategic industries.
He added that successful trainees will have access to mentorship, business support, and job placement opportunities in ongoing and upcoming oil and gas projects across the country.
The Board also urged interested Nigerians to follow official NCDMB channels for application details, eligibility requirements, and training schedules.
