The Federal Ministry of Education, in partnership with the National Skills Council, has officially opened the application portal for the Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG), inviting students across Nigeria to apply for equity-free seed funding worth up to N50 million.
According to the Ministry, the programme is designed to support bold and innovative student-led businesses that can contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth. The S-VCG initiative also aims to provide national visibility for promising ideas by maintaining a digital repository where all qualified submissions remain accessible, even if they do not receive funding.
Officials explained that the programme is targeting strong solutions within STEMMS — Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medical Sciences. The grant is open to students in all 36 states and the FCT, regardless of whether they attend a public or private tertiary institution.
