
The Federal Government has unveiled the official portal for the upcoming National Youth Conference (Youth Confab), a bold initiative designed to empower and engage 36,000 Nigerian youths across the country and in the diaspora. The conference forms part of a strategic plan to bring youth voices into national policy conversations and development planning.
The newly launched portal provides a seamless experience for registration, virtual consultations, and updates. Young Nigerians from all 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, and abroad are encouraged to register and participate in the process aimed at building a better future.

A National Platform for Youth Voices
This year’s conference has been structured to ensure full youth participation across multiple levels. These include:
Constituency-Level Consultations: Youths at the grassroots will gather to share ideas, identify challenges, and develop solutions.
Zonal Consolidation Meetings: Representatives from each region will refine local input and present collective views.
Virtual Sessions with the Diaspora: Nigerian youths living abroad will participate through live virtual engagements.
National Conference in Abuja: The final stage will bring together delegates from across the country to present and discuss youth-led policy recommendations.

Key Focus Areas
Participants will work together to generate solutions under six major thematic pillars:
- Governance, Leadership, and Political Participation
- Economic Transformation, Entrepreneurship, and Job Creation
- Education and Skills for the Future
- Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation
- Climate Change and Energy Transition
- Social Inclusion and Security
These focus areas address Nigeria’s most urgent challenges and opportunities, with youth leading the way in shaping the outcomes.
Who Can Participate?
Participation is open to Nigerian youths between the ages of 18 and 35, including students, entrepreneurs, tech innovators, community leaders, and professionals. Youth organizations and members of the Nigerian diaspora are also eligible.
The program is free, and only 36,000 slots are available, ensuring targeted engagement and inclusive representation.
Government’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment
According to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, the conference reflects the government’s commitment to involving young Nigerians in national transformation. He described the NYC as a space to transition from “protest to policy” and from “challenges to solutions.”
Olubunmi Olusanya, Chairman of the National Planning Committee and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, noted that the NYC portal is key to the success of the conference. It will facilitate registration, provide timely updates, and serve as the main channel for digital interaction.
He applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting this forward-thinking initiative and praised the Minister for his unwavering focus on youth development.
