FG to Disburse YEIDEP Grants up to ₦500,000 Starting July 2025 to Support Youth Entrepreneurs

The Federal Government has announced July 2025 as the kick-off date for disbursing funds under the Youth Empowerment and Innovation Development Programme (YEIDEP), offering non-repayable grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 to empower young Nigerian entrepreneurs.

More than 4.6 million applications have already been submitted for the programme, which is designed to promote financial inclusion and entrepreneurial growth among youth-led businesses across the country. The grant is entirely interest-free and does not require repayment, giving young Nigerians a rare opportunity to fund their dreams without financial burden.

YEIDEP is an initiative spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development in collaboration with the Youths Off The Street Initiative (YOTSI). The programme targets entrepreneurs across critical sectors such as agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), fashion, retail, and various vocational trades.

Key Highlights:

  • Disbursement begins: July 2025
  • Grant amount: ₦50,000 – ₦500,000
  • Target group: Youth entrepreneurs in Nigeria
  • Sectors covered: Agriculture, ICT, fashion, retail, vocational skills
  • Nature of support: Non-repayable, interest-free grants

The government aims to drive inclusive economic growth and reduce youth unemployment by providing much-needed capital for viable small-scale businesses.

This announcement follows recent empowerment efforts, including the disbursement of ₦1.48 billion to 29,000 small business owners and the launch of various other youth-focused initiatives.
