One victim, Glory Matthew Abba, shared his ordeal, revealing the loss of his grinding machine, valued at N1.8 million. Another victim, Aliyu Achida, disclosed that his house and stored food crops, including rice, millet, and beans, were completely destroyed, amounting to a personal loss of approximately N3 million.

In the aftermath of the fire, officials from the Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) promptly arrived on the scene. The agencies conducted a joint assessment of the damage, aiming to determine the full extent of the losses and provide support to the victims.
Authorities are calling for enhanced safety measures in markets and residential areas to prevent similar disasters in the future.
