Former Yobe Governor, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Buried in Saudi Arabia

The late Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who served as the governor of Yobe State from 1991-1992 and 1999-2007, was laid to rest and buried in Saudi Arabia on Monday. The poignant funeral ceremony took place at the Grand Mosque, Masjid Al Haram, following the dawn prayers, with approximately 20 individuals prayed upon after the Fajr prayers.

Senator Ibrahim, 75, passed away while undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia. The funeral prayers, held twice after the Fajr prayers, paid homage to his extensive contributions to Yobe State and his notable role in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Yusuf Ali, Senior Special Assistant, Communications and Strategy to Governor Mai Mala Buni, confirmed the details of the funeral ceremony. Governor Buni expressed deep sorrow over Senator Ibrahim’s demise, describing it as “a huge loss” in an official statement. He called on the citizens of Yobe and friends of the state to offer prayers for the eternal repose of the Senator’s soul.

Buni acknowledged Senator Ibrahim’s enduring legacy, emphasizing his efforts to enhance the lives of constituents and foster stability and growth in the region during his tenures as governor and senator. The late senator’s political influence and commitment to public service were highlighted as integral to the nation’s development.

The news of Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim’s burial in Saudi Arabia has reverberated widely, drawing condolences from various quarters.
