Fuel Scarcity Bites Harder in Kebbi, Sokoto as Black Marketers Sell Petrol at N2,000/Litre

Residents of Kebbi state and some parts of Sokoto state are currently facing a fuel scarcity that is making life difficult for them. Most filling stations are closed, claiming to have no products to dispense, while black market sellers are offering petrol for sale at a high price of up to N2,500 per litre.

The situation has affected business activities and caused hardship for the people. The residents have called on the government to intervene and bring the situation under control so that it does not degenerate further.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has attributed the fuel queues that have resurfaced in Lagos, Abuja, and other states to “logistics issues.” The company has, however, assured that the issues have been resolved and that there is enough fuel in the country.

NNPCL has urged Nigerians not to engage in panic buying as there is sufficient fuel in the country. It has also reiterated that the prices of petroleum products will remain the same.
