About the Fellowship

Introduced by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program aims to build the next generation of transformational leaders. Participants will receive hands-on exposure to the workings of government at the state level, engage in interactive sessions with seasoned leaders from both public and private sectors, and take part in local and international policy engagements.

This fellowship promotes ethical leadership, professional excellence, and public service impact through mentorship, direct government involvement, and leadership training.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a Nigerian citizen
• Be below 35 years of age
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Have at least three years of work experience
• Have completed the NYSC program or hold a valid exemption certificate

What Fellows Will Gain

Hands-on Governance Experience
Participants will work closely with members of the Lagos State Executive Council, rotating through different roles after the first six months to gain a broad understanding of governance.

Leadership Development Sessions
Fellows will benefit from leadership workshops, brown-bag learning sessions, personalized coaching, fireside discussions with influential figures, and regular feedback for continuous improvement.

Community Impact Projects
