Gov Zulum Declares One-Day Fast Over Economic and Security Issues in Borno State

Borno State Governor, Umara Zulum, has called on residents to observe a one-day voluntary fast on February 19, 2024, addressing the economic challenges and security issues prevalent in the state.

In a state-wide broadcast on Friday, Governor Zulum expressed deep concern over the recent hardships faced by citizens, particularly the soaring costs of essential goods. He appealed to the Shehu of Borno, the Chief Imam, Imams, and the Christian community to join in this collective effort to seek solutions through faith.

Assuring the public that the government is taking decisive steps, Zulum outlined plans to revive agriculture in the state. He suggested the existence of forces attempting to undermine the state’s progress but assured the public that measures are in place to combat such actions.
