The Nigerian House of Representatives has urged the public to rely on verified facts and not be swayed by misleading claims regarding the alleged $150 million bribery demand by three of its members. The lawmakers, Ginger Onwusibe, Philip Agbese, and Peter Akpanke, were accused by Binance’s head of financial compliance, Tigran Gambaryan, of soliciting a bribe to prevent his arrest and prosecution for alleged financial crimes.
In response, both Agbese and Onwusibe have strongly denied the accusations and vowed to pursue legal action to clear their names. The House, in an official statement signed by its spokesperson, Akin Rotimi, dismissed the claims as “recycled” and aimed at discrediting Nigerian institutions and public officials. The statement emphasized the House’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of Nigeria’s democratic processes.

The Need for Verified Information
The House has cautioned Nigerians to be wary of unverified reports and media narratives that could mislead the public.
