Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a currently serving NYSC corps member.
- Be between 18 and 39 years old.
- The program is designed to support credit-building for Nigerian youth.
- Completion of SME project management training may be required.
Step 1: Complete Financial Literacy Training
Before applying, applicants must complete a mandatory digital training module. The module covers:
- Budgeting
- Credit management
- Credit scoring
Step 2: Register on the YouthCred Platform
- Visit www.youthcred.com
- Sign up with the following details:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- NYSC details
- Registration can also be completed via credicorp-register.ng
Step 3: Log In and Begin Application
- Log in to the YouthCred dashboard.
- Navigate to the “My Loans” or “Loans” section.
- Select the “Apply for Loan” option.
Step 4: Select Loan Terms
- Choose a loan amount between ₦100,000 and ₦150,000.
- Select a repayment schedule, typically structured in monthly installments during the NYSC service year.
Step 5: Submit Supporting Information
Applicants may be asked to provide the following:
- Purpose of the loan (e.g., relocation, business startup, personal expenses)
- Income details (e.g., NYSC monthly allowance, additional income)
Step 6: Identity Verification via Face Capture
- A brief face capture is required using a device camera.
- This step is used for biometric verification and takes a few seconds to complete.
Step 7: Submit Application
- Review all information for accuracy.
- Submit the application through the platform.
- Confirmation will be provided via the portal, email, or SMS.
Step 8: Loan Disbursement
- Upon approval, funds are disbursed to the applicant’s provided bank account.
- In most cases, disbursement occurs within minutes. Some cases may take several hours.
Repayment Process
- Repayments are typically auto-deducted from the NYSC monthly allowance.
- Manual repayment via bank transfer is also allowed.
- Early repayment is permitted without penalty.
- Late repayment may negatively affect credit history. Applicants should contact support if repayment becomes difficult.
Credit Building Benefits
- On-time repayment and completion of training modules contribute to building a positive credit score.
- A good credit history may improve eligibility for future loan programs.

- Interest rates are generally near single-digit.
- No collateral or guarantors are required.
- Inaccurate or false information can lead to delays or disqualification.
